AUSSE 2009 - Our third AUSSE for 1st and 3rd year students has been completed. The Australasian Survey of Student Engagement asks students how they learn, what factors impact on their studies and how they interact with, and are supported by, the university, campus activities, staff, fellow students and the community. See ACER for further information.

The survey is broad but it does help represent the important view of UC students in the context of other NZ, Australian and USA-Canadian universities. It is also used to complement student feedback from Course and Teaching Surveys. The STU thanks all students who responded. The 8 prize-winners have been emailed with their good news!

If you would like to take a look at what UC students noted in last year's AUSSE, please use the following link. The 2009 data will be analysed and reported on completion.

UC Academics' views on Survey Issues to be sought - the views of UC academics on student survey issues are to be sought in a Semester 2 survey so that the STU has the views of both students and academics on the issues surrounding the gathering and use of student feedback.

Survey Forms to change? - The questions in the current paper surveys are to be looked at in consultation with students, departments and schools. Currently they do not reflect the different modes of delivery of courses. One size does not fit all.
